The Best Chicken Gyoza Recipe


Description

These chicken gyoza are perfectly juicy, flavorful, and easy to make at home. Crispy on the bottom and tender on top, they’re a must-try appetizer or main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 30 gyoza wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground chicken, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each gyoza wrapper.
  3. Moisten edges with water and fold into a half-moon shape, pressing edges to seal.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place gyoza in the skillet and cook until bottoms are golden, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add water, cover, and steam for 5–6 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Remove lid and cook an additional 1–2 minutes to crisp the bottoms.
  8. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

Serve with soy sauce, rice vinegar, or chili oil. Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking.
