Description

A quick and easy shortcut apple pie that’s sweet, comforting, and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 5 cups thinly sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared crust.
  5. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
  6. Cover with the second pie crust and seal the edges. Cut slits on top to vent.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
