- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook penne pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and garlic, sautΓ© until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
- Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top and cook for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
- Serve warm.
Notes
You can add chopped vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
