Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook penne pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic, sautΓ© until softened.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top and cook for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

You can add chopped vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
