Instant Pot Creamy French Onion Ground Beef and Noodles


Description

A comforting Instant Pot dinner made with savory ground beef, caramelized onion flavor, tender noodles, and a creamy sauce inspired by classic French onion soup.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set Instant Pot to sautΓ© and melt butter.
  2. Add sliced onion and cook until softened and lightly caramelized.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour in beef broth and scrape up any browned bits.
  6. Add egg noodles and stir to submerge.
  7. Seal lid and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  8. Quick release pressure and stir well.
  9. Add heavy cream and shredded cheese and mix until creamy.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra onion flavor, use French onion soup mix. Let sit a few minutes to thicken before serving.
