  • 1 package (16 oz) potato gnocchi
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook gnocchi according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add cooked gnocchi to the skillet and toss to coat with sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine to the sauce while simmering. Use fresh gnocchi if available for a softer texture.
