Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.
  3. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil.
  4. Pour sauce over the chicken.
  5. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
  7. Serve hot over rice or vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust sweetness to taste.
