Description

An easy and comforting hobo casserole made with seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for a quick family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the ground beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Lightly grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  4. Add half of the cooked ground beef and sliced onion.
  5. Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup over the layer.
  6. Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, beef, onion, and soup.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Slice the potatoes thinly to ensure even cooking. You can substitute ground turkey or add vegetables for variation.
