Easy Ground Beef Taco Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 small flour tortillas, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the tortilla pieces, then half of the seasoned beef, and half of each cheese.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining tortillas, beef, and cheese.
  6. Pour salsa over the top and sprinkle with diced onions.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot with optional toppings.

Notes

You can add beans or corn for extra texture and flavor. Leftovers store well for 2-3 days.
