Description

An easy chocolate trifle dessert layered with rich chocolate pudding, fluffy whipped cream, and soft cake for a simple yet indulgent treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake, baked and cut into cubes
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare chocolate pudding by whisking pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
  2. Let pudding set for 5 minutes.
  3. Place a layer of chocolate cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle dish or serving bowl.
  4. Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake.
  5. Add a layer of whipped topping.
  6. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  7. Finish with whipped topping and sprinkle chocolate chips or shavings on top.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

This dessert can be made a day ahead. Swap chocolate cake for brownies for an extra rich version.
