An easy chocolate trifle dessert layered with rich chocolate pudding, fluffy whipped cream, and soft cake for a simple yet indulgent treat.

- 1 box chocolate cake, baked and cut into cubes
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 2 cups whipped topping
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Prepare chocolate pudding by whisking pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
- Let pudding set for 5 minutes.
- Place a layer of chocolate cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle dish or serving bowl.
- Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake.
- Add a layer of whipped topping.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Finish with whipped topping and sprinkle chocolate chips or shavings on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
This dessert can be made a day ahead. Swap chocolate cake for brownies for an extra rich version.
