- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: fruit preserves or fresh fruit for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 squares.
- Place a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold edges slightly over the filling and brush with beaten egg.
- Add fruit preserves or fresh fruit on top if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm for the best texture. Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
