- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 200g cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry and cut into equal squares.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Spoon filling into the center of each pastry square.
- Fold or pinch corners slightly toward the center.
- Brush exposed pastry edges with beaten egg.
- Place pastries on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Best served warm. You can add fruit preserves to the center for extra flavor.
