- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse rice under cold water and drain.
- In a crockpot, combine rice, milk, sugar, and salt.
- Cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins (if using).
- Continue cooking for 30 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Serve warm or chilled, optionally sprinkled with extra cinnamon.
Notes
For extra creaminess, stir in a tablespoon of butter or heavy cream before serving. Adjust sugar to taste.
