- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup uncooked wild rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180Β°C.
- Cook wild rice according to package instructions using chicken broth.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add cooked chicken, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir in cooked wild rice.
- Pour in heavy cream and milk, mixing well.
- Transfer mixture to a greased casserole dish.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Rotisserie chicken works well for this recipe. Add mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor.
