Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup uncooked wild rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180Β°C.
  2. Cook wild rice according to package instructions using chicken broth.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add onion and cook until softened.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  6. Add cooked chicken, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Stir in cooked wild rice.
  8. Pour in heavy cream and milk, mixing well.
  9. Transfer mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  10. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  12. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Rotisserie chicken works well for this recipe. Add mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor.
