Chicken Chop Suey


Description

This chicken chop suey is quick, savory, and packed with tender chicken and crisp vegetables in a flavorful sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 cup celery, sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and onion and sautΓ© until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned.
  4. Stir in carrots and celery and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add cabbage and bean sprouts and toss gently.
  6. Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.
  7. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  8. Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the skillet.
  9. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  10. Season with salt and black pepper and serve hot.

Notes

Serve with steamed rice or noodles. Do not overcook the vegetables to keep them crisp.
