Description

A decadent twist on classic banana pudding with the rich flavors of Bananas Foster, featuring caramelized bananas, creamy layers, and a hint of rum.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons dark rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1 box vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add brown sugar and sliced bananas, cooking for 3-4 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in rum and vanilla extract. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, whisk pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
  5. Fold in whipped topping gently.
  6. In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, pudding mixture, and caramelized bananas. Repeat layers as desired.
  7. Top with remaining pudding and bananas.
  8. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with toasted pecans or drizzle with additional caramel sauce.
