Amazing Ground Beef Wellington


Description

A savory twist on the classic Beef Wellington, made with juicy ground beef, flavorful mushrooms, and a golden puff pastry crust.


Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 200g mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened.
  3. Season ground beef with salt and pepper, then mix with the mushroom mixture.
  4. Roll out puff pastry and spread Dijon mustard in the center.
  5. Place beef mixture onto the pastry and fold over to seal completely.
  6. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Make sure the puff pastry is chilled before baking to achieve a perfectly flaky crust.
