I was born and raised here in the United States, and my love for cooking started in the most ordinary way possible: sitting on the kitchen counter as a little girl, swinging my legs while my grandmother made soups that could bring a whole room together. I remember thinking that if something as simple as a pot of chicken and vegetables could make people smile that big, then I wanted to spend my life learning how to do the same.

Over the years, I became the kind of home cook who never walks past fresh produce without touching it, smelling it, and imagining what I could turn it into.
