A refreshing and creamy Mexican Lemon Carlota, made with layers of Maria cookies and a luscious lemon cream. Perfect for parties and loved by everyone.
Ingredients

- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
- 1 package Maria cookies
- 1/2 cup milk for dipping cookies
Instructions
- Blend condensed milk, evaporated milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest until thick and creamy.
- Dip Maria cookies briefly in milk.
- Layer cookies on the bottom of a dish.
- Spread a layer of lemon cream over the cookies.
- Repeat layers until the dish is full, ending with cream on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
- Serve chilled and enjoy.
Notes
For a firmer Carlota, add a bit more lemon juice. Garnish with crushed cookies or lemon zest before serving.
