A refreshing and creamy Mexican Lemon Carlota, made with layers of Maria cookies and a luscious lemon cream. Perfect for parties and loved by everyone.


Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 1 package Maria cookies
  • 1/2 cup milk for dipping cookies

Instructions

  1. Blend condensed milk, evaporated milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest until thick and creamy.
  2. Dip Maria cookies briefly in milk.
  3. Layer cookies on the bottom of a dish.
  4. Spread a layer of lemon cream over the cookies.
  5. Repeat layers until the dish is full, ending with cream on top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
  7. Serve chilled and enjoy.

Notes

For a firmer Carlota, add a bit more lemon juice. Garnish with crushed cookies or lemon zest before serving.
